San Marzano

San Marzano is one of the most popular tomatoes among Semillas customers. This very productive bottle tomato comes from the municipality of San Marzano sul Sarno, near Mount Vesuvius. There it’s grown in the particularly fertile volcanic soil. Its thick-walled tomatoes are up to 8in long. They develop an excellent, very intense flavor with low acidity and have only a few seeds. Therefore, they’re particularly popular in tomato juice or sauces. Even in dried form they’re simply delicious. This product should not be missing from any vegetable garden.
